Emailed received from Dr Matthew Torres TX04 7/9/25 for the schedulers

Happy Wednesday, All.

I wanted to take some time to give some information about how the schedule works on our end. So, that the call center could understand what works for us and what doesn't. If anyone has any questions about anything that I included below, please let me know. If you think of any other scheduling concerns that you'd like to ask about, please let me know as well.

Thanks, MT!

Scheduled Surgeries

IV sedations - will require the doctor’s full attention for the entire appointment

Local extractions/biopsies - the doctor will inject local anesthetic to numb the patient and then leave while anesthesia takes effect

3rd molars - 45 min

Full mouth extractions - 90 min

Single extraction - 30 min

Implant - 30 min

  1. IVS Typically, get 45 to 60 min blocks
  2. Can be double-booked at the beginning or end of the procedure, unless specifically told not to do so.
  3. Local cases can be double-booked with follow-up, consult, or another local case

Same Day Consult/Surgery

Doctor will see the patient for consult, then there is DEAD time when the front desk needs to present treatment, we can double book a follow up, consult, or scheduled local case.

  • 90 min blocks, ALWAYS double book (Follow up, consult or local)

Consults

Third molars, extractions, implants - 20-30 min

Pathology - Soft tissue (ST) is typically going to BECOME a same-day local procedure (we will biopsy any suspicious lesions); Hard tissues (HT, bone) will likely schedule them for IV sedation because they typically require a bigger, more painful procedure to access their lesion.

All on X - initial 20-30 min (N/C pano and consult)

TMJ/Trauma - full hour consult appointment with CBCT

Orthognathic - initial

Follow Up

Surgery patients typically get 1-2 week follow up (3rd molars, implants, etc.)

TMJ patients get 6 week follow-up with 30 min appointment. If any procedure was done follow-up is typically free.
