Can Scheduling Answer Basic Post Op Questions?

Yes

Gauze

Gauze is to be changed every 20-30 minutes. If no bleeding/oozing leave gauze out. 

Recommended Diet

Soft mechanical diet (soft foods).

Travel by Plane

For most surgeries, patients can fly 2-3 days after surgery.
If there is a SINUS LIFT, they may fly 1 week after surgery. 

Sports & Wind Instruments

A patient may return to playing a wind instrument or to sports about 7-10 days after surgery.

Teeth Brushing

Patients may resume brushing their teeth the morning after the day of the procedure. 

Post Op Medications

Post op medications are typically prescribed the day of surgery.

NPO Instructions

Patients should be NPO midnight prior to a sedation surgery. 

Syringes
(wisdom teeth patients)

Syringes are given to patient who had wisdom teeth extracted. They will start using 4 days after surgery. Rinse socket with warm salt water until the socket closes completely. (2-4 weeks).
